Why do I need to invest my money?

There are many different reasons to invest your money. You might be saving for something specific, making sure you have something put away for a 'rainy day' or taking a longer term view and looking for a way to supplement a pension during your retirement.

So whether it's a wedding day, dream car or for your children's future, making the right investment choice is key.


What do I need to consider?

- Whether you're saving for something specific in the future and know how much you need to save.

- An amount you can afford to invest.

- The term of your investment i.e how long you want to invest for.

- The access to your funds.

- Will you want your investment to pay you a regular income?

- And, maybe most important of all, what level of risk are you willing to take with your money?

- Typically, investments should be seen as medium to long term commitments of, say, at least five years.

- The value of investments can fall as well as rise and you may not get back the amount you invest.
